Country star Brad Paisley is mourning the loss of his former home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles after it burned to the ground amid the devastating Palisades Fire on Jan. 7.
The “Whiskey Lullaby” singer, 52, shared an emotional tribute to his longtime abode on Instagram on Wednesday, Jan. 8, remembering it as the first home he bought with wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley, whom he married in 2003.
“We lived in Pacific Palisades for years. It was the first house Kim and I bought together. Memories were made with some of our dearest friends- the first nursery we had to prep, the birthing classes with [Kevin Nealon and wife Susan Yeagley],” Paisley wrote. “Walking to the local restaurants, the Gelson’s, and the Starbucks.”
Paisley and Williams-Paisley, 53, are parents to sons Huck, 17, and Jasper, 15. Local news reports indicate that both the Gelson’s and the Starbucks mentioned by Paisley were destroyed by the blaze, which began around 10:30 a.m. local time on Jan. 7 and has grown to more than 17,000 acres.
“That beautiful old house burned last night. As did most of that community. So many good people displaced, devastated and cast out all over LA,” Paisley wrote. “I would post a link to donate or raise awareness or something but it all feels so much bigger than that. I don’t know where to begin.”
He continued, “I’m sure those of you reading this will find some way to help if you can, but mostly right now I just want to mourn the loss of a town. And acknowledge the beauty and the memories of what it was. It is all so tragic and sad. Love you all.”
The couple sold their Palisades home in 2013, and now live near Nashville. The home was a restored, four-bedroom, three-bath house built in 1925, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Williams-Paisley commented on the post with her own grief, writing, “Beautiful post, thank you. I don’t have the words right now. 💔💔💔”

Yeagley, who moved out of the Palisades two years ago, according to an Instagram comment, also wrote, “I can’t stop crying.”
Other celebrity homes in the Palisades destroyed by fire include those of Cobie Smulders and Taran Killam, Miles and Keleigh Teller, Anthony Hopkins, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, John Goodman, Billy Crystal and Anna Faris.
In addition to the Palisades Fire, the Eaton Fire also remains at 0% containment. The Hurst Fire is 10% contained, while the Lidia Fire is 40% contained.
The death toll from the fires remains unknown, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said at a press briefing on Thursday, Jan. 9.
