The NFL was shaken up on Tuesday following an agreement between Russell Wilson and the New York Giants.
After a couple of meetings with teams around the league, Wilson signed a one-year deal with the Giants.
While all eyes are on Wilson, set to play in New York after competing for the Pittsburgh Steelers for just one season, there have also been some reports that tie in veteran signal-caller Aaron Rodgers.
A recent report by Adam Schefter at ESPN mentioned that Wilson’s deal with New York now leaves Rodgers in a position to land a deal with the Steelers.
The Giants, as well as the Minnesota Vikings, were linked to Rodgers during the free agency period, but Pittsburgh continues to be viewed as the likely destination for the 41-year-old.

With the Vikings choosing to back JJ McCarthy and the Giants signing Wilson, a marriage between Rodgers and the Steelers should benefit both parties.
If Rodgers were to sign with Pittsburgh, he would have quality weapons, such as DK Metcalf and George Pickens. He would also be joining a franchise led by head coach Mike Tomlin, who is always in a position to compete in the playoffs.
While the Wilson signing doesn’t guarantee the Steelers will sign Rodgers, time is ticking and there’s only so many options for both parties to choose from.
Last season, Rodgers recorded 28 touchdowns and 3,897 yards, completing 63.0% of his pass attempts.
