For the first time in her over 40-year career in Hollywood, Demi Moore is officially an Oscar nominee.

“Being nominated for an Oscar is an incredible honor and these last few months have been beyond my wildest dreams,” Moore, 62, said in a statement to Us Weekly via her publicist on Thursday, January 23. “Truly there are no words to fully express my joy and overwhelming gratitude for this recognition. Not only for me but for what this film represents. I am deeply humbled.”

“I really wasn’t expecting that. I’m just in shock right now,” she said during her January 5 acceptance speech. “I’ve been doing this a long time, like, over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor. And I’m just so humbled and so grateful. … As I was at kind of a low point, I had this magical, bold, courageous, out-of-the-box, absolutely bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance. And the universe told me that ‘you’re not done.’”
