ATLANTA — A winter storm system swept across the metro Atlanta region early Friday morning, blanketing many areas — including the city itself — with 2+ inches of snow.
It’s left a white layer across the region that we’re not very used to. And it appears to have come in particularly thick right in the middle of Atlanta, even relative to more northern parts of the metro area.
Here’s a look at preliminary snowfall totals from the National Weather Service. Note these may change with further measurements and refinement.
- Downtown Atlanta: 3.5 inches
- Midtown Atlanta: 2 inches
- College Park: 3 inches
- Hapeville (by Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport): 2 inches
- Stone Mountain: 4 inches
- Austell: 4 inches
- Heard County (Roosterville): 4 inches
- Kirkwood: 3.5 inches
- Norcross: 3.5 inches
- Covington: 3.5 inches
- Chamblee: 3 inches
- Brookhaven: 3 inches
- Druid Hills: 3 inches
- Avondale Estates: 3 inches
- East Lake: 3 inches
- Smyrna: 3 inches
- Six Flags White Water in Marietta: 3 inches
- McDonough: 3 inches
- Roswell: 2 inches
- Dunwoody: 2.5 inches
- Carrollton: 1.8 inches
