Arsenal have a mountain to climb to reach the Carabao Cup final after a 2-0 defeat at home to Newcastle.

Alexander Isak put the visitors ahead in the first half, before his shot led to Anthony Gordon doubling the lead early in the second. Mikel Arteta’s side had plenty of the ball and plenty of chances, but no cutting edge on the night.

It makes the return leg in early February extremely challenging.
